Carlos Queiroz has revealed Alfredo Morelos' disciplinary record cost him his place in Colombia's Copa America squad.

He said: "Alfredo Morelos has only started one game after the friendlies with Colombia in Asia.

Morelos was included by the former Real Madrid boss and No.2 to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, Queiroz, for his first squad in March and he played a part in both their games against Japan and South Korea.

The international snub has puzzled Morelos, who will be aiming for his 30th goal of the season tomorrow at Kilmarnock in Rangers' final game of the season.

And subsequently, he's been second choice at Rangers to Jermain Defoe and Queiroz has revealed his lack of game time cost him a place.

The Rangers striker was surprisingly omitted from the South American nation's 40-man preliminary squad for the summer tournament in Brazil and the 22-year-old admits he was left floored by the decision.

But since then he was sent off for the fifth time this season for Rangers against Celtic which landed him a four-game ban.
