Andy Halliday is looking forward to his first carefree summer holiday in five seasons.

“I now have real confidence as we have better quality players and mentally tougher characters in the dressing room.

“In terms of going toe to toe in the head to head games with Celtic it’s a lot closer than previous years.

“We’ve a lot more leaders in the dressing room, a better mentality in the group and that has created a better atmosphere and togetherness that reflects in the progress we’ve made.

The midfielder has become fed up of ending his campaigns as a Rangers player in confusion and turmoil.

Halliday said: “Thankfully I don’t need to go into a summer with my head up my bum for four weeks so I can enjoy it and look forward to what we hope to achieve next year.

It cost us, but we’re on the right track for next season.”
