Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has been extremely busy during January in the hopes of catching Celtic in the title race.

The Old Firm derby victory meant Rangers moved level on points with the league leaders who hold the advantage due to their game in hand.

Both sides have been extremely active in the first two weeks of the transfer window, adding numerous players to their respective squads.

With his route to the first-team currently blocked, Woodburn was sent on loan to Sheffield United but the move has not gone to plan so far – the youngster has now returned to Anfield after starting just one game in the Championship.

Gerrard has moved quickly to secure the signings of Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis and even more additions could ensure the top prize in Scottish football returns to Ibrox.

One man he should consider is Liverpool wonderkid – Ben Woodburn.

Working with a veteran forward like Defoe could also be hugely beneficial to the 19-year-old who has the potential to be one of the top players in the country.
