Honest Charlie Adam has revealed he was in the Dundee end cheering on his boyhood heroes against Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final despite being an Ibrox player.

Adam, 34, has always followed his beloved Dundee and it didn’t stop as a player.

When teenager Adam knew he wasn’t going to be in Alex McLeish’s Rangers squad for the Hampden showcase in 2003 he decided he’d join his pals, alongside the rest of their fellow Dundee diehards, to cheer on Jim Duffy’s side.

The lifelong Dark Blue saw his dream finally came true this week when he signed a two-year contract.

“I remember being employed by Rangers when Amoruso scored in the final and I was in the Dee end hoping my team would win.

This is a project going forward and it is exciting times for the club as well as the city again.”

Adam, who had played for Dundee in testimonial games but never thought it would happen for real.
