According to The Daily Record, Ibrox director of football Mark Allen has said that Rangers will see at the end of the season if they can sign Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent permanently.

That will not be done by short-term deals and loans, rather building a squad that will be able to compete for years to come, and that can start by securing Kent permanently at Ibrox.

He has spent the past few years being batted from club to club on loan, but looks to have found a home at Ibrox this season.

Therefore, to be able to sign the winger permanently will start to give Rangers a very bright future indeed.

The 22-year-old winger has come through Liverpool’s academy, but has never actually featured for The Reds in a competitive fixture, and questions will surely start to mount as to whether he will ever be able to break into Jürgen Klopp’s star-studded team.

Kent has been a huge asset to manager Steven Gerrard this season down the flank, and his dribbling has given the team another dimension.

With the signings as well this January of Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis, both in their 30s, there is a feeling that the club are not building for the future.
