Feyenoord are struggling to sell their bumper allocation for their opening Europa League showdown with Rangers at Ibrox next week.

Feyenoord fans have blamed the high cost of a ticket for their lack of backing, with visiting supporters being charged 51 Euros for an Ibrox brief, including a booking fee, which converts to almost £46.

And two years ago, there were major clashes between Manchester United fans and Feyenoord supporters ahead of their Europa League clash at Old Trafford.

In 2015, they took 7,000 fans to Italy for a Europa League clash with Roma and there was a mass riot with police in the capital.

But they've only managed to sell around 1,400 tickets with almost 1,200 tickets remaining unsold.

And they have been ordered by the Dutch FA to close part of their De Kuip stadium for tomorrow's derby with Den Haag after they set off firecrackers in a game against Ajax last season.

The Rotterdam side were handed 2,600 briefs for the clash against Steven Gerrard's side in matchday one of the competition in Glasgow.
