It is hardly a secret that Steven Gerrard would like to keep Ryan Kent at Rangers for as long as possible.

However, it seems Gerrard’s former club may have handed his chances of securing the 22-year-old on a permanent deal a huge blow.

There is no doubt that Liverpool’s latest valuation of Kent will have come as a huge blow to Rangers and it will have made it extremely difficult for them to land him on a permanent deal this summer.

The Liverpool-loanee has been outstanding for the Ibrox outfit this season and has impressed many in the stands at Ibrox with his performances for the Light Blues, whilst he was also crowned the Scottish Young Player of the Year.

According to a report by Football Insider, it is claimed the Premier League giants value Kent at around the £12million mark; a price too high for Rangers to pay.

The figure is believed to be around twice the amount that the Light Blues were willing to pay for the winger and it would now seem his future lies elsewhere.

Rangers fans, what do you make of the £12m price-tag on Kent?
