Former Rangers star Giovanni van Bronckhorst has reportedly accepted a coaching role at Manchester City.

According to Telegraaf, van Bronckhorst will work across the City Football Group, the parent organisation who own Man City, Girona, Melbourne City and New York City.

Van Bronckhorst, who was comfortable both at left midfield and left-back, also played in the 2010 World Cup Final with Holland, losing 1-0 to Spain.

It's reported the 44-year-old was spotted at the Etihad last week and a deal has been in place since the summer, with van Bronckhorst wanting to keep the news under wraps.

In his second season as Feyenoord boss, van Bronckhorst led the club to their first Dutch title in 18 years, having delivered the KNVB Cup the previous year.

The Dutchman has been out of football since leaving Feyenoord at the end of last season.

He's now set to join another former Rangers midfielder, Mikel Arteta, at the Premier League champions.
