Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick headed out on loan to Scunthorpe United in the summer once Allan McGregor rejoined the Light Blues.

As mentioned, the shot-stopper has been impressive during his time at Glanford Park in League One this season and could look to build on those performances further.



“We have had liaisons with Rangers and at the end of the day, it is down to what Rangers want to do,” he told The Scottish Sun.



“If Rangers allow it and he wants to stay we would like to keep him.” Alnwick’s chances of getting first-team football at Rangers in the second half of the season would have to be considered to be rather slim.

His spell with the English outfit expired last week, however, Stuart McCall is keen for him to come back to Glanford Park, with Alnwick also thought to be happy to do so.

The Irons’ boss has admitted they are in contact with Rangers and believe that an agreement can be reached.

With competition for places tough at Ibrox, the 25-year-old joined the League One outfit on a temporary deal in which he managed to impress.
