Neil Lennon has responded to Steven Gerrard's claims Scotland coaching staff had been "careless" with Ryan Jack .

The Ibrox boss detailed how the former Aberdeen player was asked to do an 11k run which saw his knee injury flare up.

Mikey with a groin injury and Jozo with an ongoing knee problem but he’s seeing a specialist today."

The Rangers boss was seething as he slammed the SFA after the Ibrox midfielder returned back crocked despite not kicking a ball for Scotland.

Gerrard was unable to hide his disappointment and anger over the issue, after the 27-year-old aggravated a knee injury during a double training session just two days after their game against Celtic.

Lennon had three of his Celtic players in the same situation but Ryan Christie, James Forrest and Callum McGregor all featured for Scotland in the double header against Russia and Belgium and came back unscathed.

"It's part and parcel with being an international player, you can get injured here, you can get injured in training with us or training or playing for the international team.
