Scores of supporters eager to buy Rangers merchandising have flocked to the new club store which threw its doors for the first time on Saturday.

Due to the ongoing retail dispute with Mike Ashley, the club are unable to promote the store.

The shop in St Enoch’s Square in Glasgow opened for business at 10am and a huge queue formed with as many as one hundred punters waiting to get in.

The shop was said to be doing a roaring trade as supporters stocked up on gifts for themselves and Christmas presents.

King said: "Our commercial and marketing function has seen the benefit of the return of Rangers to top level football and this is now being reflected in the value we are able to attract from our commercial partners at the various levels of relationship that we have with them.

"This allows them to get interim relief pending a full ventilation of the facts.

"Unfortunately, Sports Direct has again done its best to interrupt our retail operations by engaging in the type of litigation that they are by now famous for.
