WE look at some of the memorable moments that have happened on this day in the remarkable history of Rangers Football Club.

In 2002 roared back to the top of the SPL after a stunning victory over their Old Firm rivals to give Alex McLeish the perfect present for his first birthday as boss.

John Hartson’s goal brought Celtic back into the game but Rangers held on to overtake their rivals at the top of the table.

Rangers edged closer to setting a new club record in 2013 for competitive wins in a row as they beat Ayr United 3-0 at Ibrox.

It was McLeish’s first league win over Celtic and the first home win for the Light Blues in this fixture for over two years and how the fans lapped it up.

First-half goals from Jon Daly and Fraser Aird put the Light Blues firmly in command well before referee Euan Anderson’s whistle blew to mark the midway point.

The Light Blues overcame the setback of conceding the quickest goal ever in an Old Firm derby to edge out Celtic in a thrilling derby.
