Rangers beat Celtic 2-0 at Ibrox to extend their impressive run to six straight victories in the Scottish Premiership.

Steven Gerrard's side managed to restore some faith after Celtic's league title triumph the previous week which meant the Gers would end the season without a trophy, and the ex-England captain has slammed claims that the result means nothing.

"We listened to all the pre-match talk about how much the Celtic players wanted to win here, but we won it and we won it comfortably."

Gerrard's comments come after Celtic hero Chris Sutton outlined his thoughts on the fixture, and refused to consider it a blow for the Hoops.

"Celtic played as though this game was meaningless, because that's exactly what it was," he told the Daily Record.

"If they had got going earlier we might even have had a title race rather than an average Celtic team being allowed a procession."

Rangers travel to Kilmarnock in the final round of Premiership fixtures this weekend, whilst Celtic host Hearts.
