Partick Thistle are in talks to sign Lewis Mayo on-loan from Rangers.

The Thistle boss has already agreed a deal to sign Mayo’s Rangers team mate Zak Rudden.

Rangers director of football Ross Wilson believes both teenage defenders will benefit from playing first team football with the Irvine-based side.

Rangers announced a partnership with the American outfit, part of the USL set-up, back in November.

Meanwhile, Mayo's team-mates Danny Finlayson and Matthew Shiels are set for loan spells in the USA with Orange County.

The 19-year-old was with Steven Gerrard’s first-team in Dubai but is set to go out on loan.

Finlayson, 18, is a right-back while compatriot Shiels, 19, is a left-back by trade.
