Rangers legend Ally McCoist disagrees with Ibrox chairman Dave King’s assertion that the club are ‘within tangible reach of becoming the dominant force in Scottish football again’, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

What did you make of Dave King’s letter to supporters yesterday?

I don’t think Gerrard will be upset at all at the statement.

Gerrard will know better than anyone fans are expecting more next season and I don’t think the comments from King have been very helpful at all.

In a letter to supporters yesterday, King assured supporters that the club were making significant progress in the efforts to close the gap on Celtic, despite another disappointing trophy-less season.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the former prolific striker said: In all honesty Rangers are a good bit off becoming the dominant force in Scottish football but I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

McCoist though believes that Gerrard could use his comments as leverage to ensure that he is properly backed in the upcoming summer transfer window, believing that Rangers are still a long way off from challenging the Hoops.
