Zak Rudden took just a matter of hours to show why Falkirk boss Ray McKinnon was so determined to extend his loan deal from Rangers as he struck a crucial leveller against Partick Thistle.

And his 76th minute goal - his ninth of the season - secured a crucial draw for Falkirk to keep them a point above the Championship's bottom side Thistle.

The result moves Alloa seven points clear of Partick Thistle at the bottom while Morton slip out of the top five.

Blair Spittal had fired the Jags ahead in the 61st minute but Gary Harkins' red card after 74 left Gary Caldwell's side in trouble and two minutes later Rudden headed home.

Chris Millar opened the scoring for the Greenock men in the 12th minute but the Wasps turned the game on it's head after the interval thanks to an Alan Trouten penalty and a Kerr Waddell own goal.

The 18-year-old returned to the Falkirk Stadium earlier today after spending the first half of the season with the Bairns.

Ayr United failed to take advantage of Ross County's slip for the second week running as they went down 1-0 at Inverness.
