Scottish football is becoming a laughing stock with all these blunders and unfortunately for Rangers, we’ve been on the receiving end of it more than most this season.

However, it is abundantly clear questions about the current disciplinary system, which we believe is flawed, must be posed.

Rangers are not happy with the suspension of goalkeeper Allan McGregor, releasing a statement that calls on ‘extreme urgency’ when it comes to reviewing the disciplinary process at the Scottish FA.

As quoted by BBC Scotland, the club said: “Rangers has no option but to accept this decision.

Rangers has been in dialogue with the Scottish FA on this topic for some time and would urge that the system is now thoroughly reviewed as a matter of extreme urgency.” The Gers shot-stopper’s two match ban was upheld by the compliance officer yesterday despite a club appeal that included a personal appearance from the player himself at Hampden.

Given that Alan Power and Paul McGinn got away with worse incidents at the weekend, the decision is something of a joke and the club are right to question the current judicial system at the Scottish FA.

He was judged to have unfairly slid in on Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson during last week’s 4-2 win at Pittodrie.
