The 21-year-old wasn't to be denied though, and he put Willem ahead after 20 minutes.

The Dutch side will now welcome Rangers to the Netherlands on September 24 for a one-off tie.

The draw had thrown up the possibility of a reunion with Progres Niederkorn, who inflicted Rangers' most humbling European defeat in 2017.

Steven Gerrard's side face Lincoln Red Imps in Gibraltar on Thursday, as they begin their 2020-21 European campaign.

Belgian Under-21 international Mike Trésor Ndayishimiye ensured it would be a real statement performance as he added the fifth with 25 minutes to play.
