Myles Beerman and Liam Burt are among five Rangers players to be released at the end of the season.

They will join Kyle Bradley, Scott Gray and Jay Mack from the academy in playing their football elsewhere next term.

Gray revealed on Twitter earlier in May he would be moving on in the summer and Mack will leave the U-18 squad.

Ibrox head of youth Craig Mulholland says all five will be supported in making their next career choice.

“We hope that when players leave the academy they are not only better footballers than when they arrived but also better people who are well rounded individuals who can use the attributes they have gained to go on and have successful careers and indeed successful lives.” Beerman made eight first-team appearances under Pedro Caixinha while Bradley and Burt made just four between them.

He told the Rangers website : "It is the toughest part of the job to communicate these decisions to good lads you have grown to care about over many years.

"They will also meet with our education team to discuss their career plan in detail.
