Reported Rangers target Mohanad Ali is capable of a bit of magic, as proved by this stunning solo goal for his country on Saturday.

Ali, who has eight goals in 13 caps for his country already, scored a brilliant individual goal to help Iraq into the last 16 of the Asian Cup in their 3-0 win over Yemen, carving out his side's opener.

Ali is likely to be in action again for the national team on Wednesday against Iran in the final group game of the Asian Cup Group D, and they have already qualified for the Round of 16, which takes place between January 20-22.

The youngster made his international debut against Bahrain in December 2017, and scored his first and second international goals in a friendly tie against Saudi Arabia in February 2018.

Iraqi journalist Ahmed Saeed has claimed the player's agent told him there were talks between the Scottish Premiership club and his agent over a loan move.

The 18-year-old Iraqi playmaker has been linked with a move to Steven Gerrard's side, although any talk of the player joining is still at an early stage.

He currently plays for Al-Shorta, a top-flight side in his homeland, and has been on loan previously at Baghdad club Al-Kahrabaa.
