Former Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam has expressed his delight at being asked to play for the Ibrox club in this weekend’s legends charity match, however, not everyone is as happy.

He may have, clumsily, meant to express that the most important aspect of the fiasco was his brother but these football fans haven’t forgotten.

Adam, when asked about Rangers situation in relation to his brother, Grant, who was a 20-year-old goalkeeper at the club said via The Telegraph: “I am not interested, simple as that.

Adam played 77 times for Rangers before moving to England where he has stayed ever since playing for Blackpool, Liverpool, Stoke and Reading.

Here is a selection of the responses to Adam looking forward to his return to Ibrox, it’s safe to say he may be in for a cold reception.

The midfielder enjoyed success at Ibrox winning the league title in 2008/09 but never fully established himself as an essential part of the first team, leading to his departure at the end of that season following a loan spell at Blackpool.

My brother is there and for me, that’s the important thing.
