Wes Foderingham is prepared to run down his current contract and leave Rangers next summer, according to a report by Football Insider.

They claim the Gers’ second-choice goalkeeper had opportunities to leave the Ibrox outfit in the previous window, with multiple English clubs said to have tried to bring him south of the border.

What does strike as surprising, though, is the fact that it seemed as though he had a route out of Ibrox in the transfer window that has just passed, therefore, it seems a little strange as to why he still finds himself in Glasgow.

According to Transfermarkt, McGregor has kept 30 clean sheets in his 62 appearances, taking his tally for the Light Blues to 145 in 312 matches over the years.

Prior to the summer transfer window, the 28-year-old shot-stopper was expected to hold talks with Gerrard about his future as he had become frustrated at being second fiddle and saw himself as a number one option (Sky Sports).

The heavily experienced and former Ger quickly established himself as the new manager’s number one choice and has hardly let the Light Blues down with his contributions over the past year or so.

Everything appears to have changed at Ibrox for Foderingham following the arrivals of Steven Gerrard and Allan McGregor last summer.
