Celtic and Rangers fans united to condemn the alleged abuse and the reaction has heartened Brown.

The Celtic captain has spoken for the first time since hearing sickening abuse about his late sister Fiona outside Ibrox.

Defiant Scott Brown has revealed he has been touched by the support he has received across the Glasgow divide.

Brown was emerging from the stadium following Celtic’s 2-0 win over Rangers at the beginning of the month when he was allegedly taunted.

He replied said: "That's easy, social media.

"People can just shout and say what they want and think it's appropriate but for me it's just about getting over that and focus on playing football again."

For me that’s it finished with – it’s about me focusing on playing football and continuing to win games."
