Glen Kamara is set to join Rangers during the January transfer window after Dundee Jim McIntyre confirmed talks are ongoing between the two clubs about a transfer.

Kamara signed a pre-contract with the Gers last weekend that would commence for four years from the end of the current season.

However, speculation has been rife we could make an early move for the Finnish international and McIntyre has appeared to confirm that’s what the player wants to happen.

As quoted by Sky Sports News, the Dark Blues boss said of the situation: “I think when a player signs a pre-contract, nine times out of 10 he would rather move on.

Everybody is aware of that, discussions are ongoing.” Although Rangers are furnished rather well in the middle of the park at this point, especially after the arrival of Steven Davis, bringing Kamara to club earlier than expected would allow the player settle into life at Ibrox ahead of the new season.

There’s even the possibility of him breaking into the starting eleven now, with fans excited to see whether his potential can be realised in the  Gers first-team.

Given Dundee’s willingness to do a deal, it seems relatively risk free to give them a fee now for the player to allow his development at the club to start as soon as possible.
