Scotland frontrunner Steve Clarke will not speak to the media on Friday.

The Kilmarnock boss was set to address the press pack ahead of his side's final match of the season against Rangers but assistant Alex Dyer will be in attendance instead.

Clarke was slapped with a two-game suspension by the SFA on Thursday for his rant against ref Steve McLean last month.

The 56-year-old will be in the Rugby Park stand for Sunday’s clash which could also mark the end of his reign.

His run-ins with the SFA have not put the governing body off in their bid to appoint a gaffer but the Clarke will be forced to end the season out of the dugout.

He landed in hot water for his outburst after defeat to Dons last month, insisting McLean shouldn’t ref games involving Killie as his dad, Stuart, was a club legend.

Clarke was also strongly linked with Fulham before they appointed Scott Parker and the former Chelsea coach has been open on exploring his options elsewhere.
