Steven Gerrard pulled on a Rangers shirt for the first time, switching sides after playing for the Liverpool legends in today's match at Ibrox .

He didn't manage to get a goal as Liverpool held on to win, but the cheers from the crowd showed just how much the moment meant to Rangers fans.

The likes of Luis Garcia, Vladimir Smicer and Jamie Carragher are all turning out today, but the real star turn is Gerrard, who made over 700 appearances for Liverpool in his playing career.

The score stayed that way for much of the second half, with Gerrard substituted on 75 minutes.

After playing the first 75 minutes for his boyhood team though, the Rangers boss has now switched sides for closing stages of the match - much to the delight of the Ibrox crowd who had been comically booing him beforehand.

Boyd did make up for it with a goal later in the match, with Peter Lovenkrands also getting a goal, but it was Liverpool who led at the break thanks to Luis Garcia, Patrik Berger and Emile Heskey.

The Gers squad also includes the likes of Nacho Novo, Kris Boyd and Peter Lovenkrands, and Boyd had the chance to open the scoring from the spot.
