Former Rangers defender Alan Hutton has suggested Jordan Rossiter has played his final game for the Ibrox natives, and will leave the Gers in 2020 when his contract expires.

“I can’t imagine [he has a future at Rangers],” Hutton told Football Insider.

“I know Gerrard knows him really well, he must obviously think he’s a good player, but ultimately if he can’t stay fit, the chances are going to be slim.” Rossiter’s four outings in the Scottish Premiership under Gerrard last season were, in fact, the former England youth international’s most in a single league campaign since moving to Ibrox, showing the issues he has had in staying fit that Hutton alluded to.

Rangers fans, would you be happy to see Rossiter leave at the end of his contract?

“It’s difficult, he’s come up [from Liverpool] and I think he’s had injury problems before he actually signed, as in a history of problems.

“It was difficult, he found it hard to stay fit for long periods of time.

The 22-year-old will remain at Fleetwood until the end of the season, at which point he will become a free agent, unless Gers boss Steven Gerrard steps in to offer the young midfielder new terms.
