Furious Rangers fans have accused Police Scotland of treating them like "cattle" after it was revealed they would be escorted to Parkhead before their next match against Celtic .

However, the decision has been blasted by Rangers fans, who have hit out at the wording of the letter.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "As part of extensive planning ahead of the Old Firm match on March 31, we have engaged with Rangers and asked if possible that fans are in the stadium before 11am.

Rangers fans arriving after 11:00 hours will be held away from the Stadium until after the match has kicked off."

"Fans are requested to gather at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome around 10.30 hours at which point they will receive an escort across to Turnstiles 66 and 67.

A letter sent out to supporters has asked them to meet at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome at 10.30am for they can be walked to the ground for 11am ahead of the 12pm kick off.
