BROGAN Hay is hoping Rangers Women can get off to a good start in the SWPL Cup group as they travel to Dundee United on Sunday.

The 20-year-old is expecting a tough game but can’t wait to get back into competitive action after last weekend’s game against Queen’s Park was postponed.

It will be the first game for the new-look Gers squad, and Hay says a high standard has already been set in training.

Speaking to RangersTV ahead of the game, she said: “I am expecting it to be a tough game, I think they will be a well organised team.

“I know they made a few signings over the winter break who have played SWPL1 football so I think they will know what to expect.

“Every game is important but it is even more important that we get off to a good start in the group.

“I’m really looking forward to it, I feel like we haven’t had a real competitive game in so long and everyone is fired up for it and I can’t wait to get started.

“Training has been really good, there is a real high intensity. The standard of training seems a lot higher and everyone is competitive and we have all got a winning mentality so I think that will be good going forward.

“I think it is really important to set ourselves right and give ourselves the best start possible in the group games.”

Brogan is one of the few players who have stayed on from last season, and is enjoying working with her new teammates.

She continued: “It has been really good, I think everyone has gelled really well together considering it is a whole new squad.

“First of all it was hard to learn how everyone plays and get off to a good start and new styles, but I think everyone has adapted to it really well and it can only get better the more we play.

“Obviously I want to continue my form from the end of last season, my injury was tough but I am just glad to be back and to be involved in this programme is really exciting.”
